Detective Chewy

Detective Chewy is a vertical-slice demo for a mystery card-game inspired by Gin Rummy and Film Noir. 

There are two game modes are available as separate downloads.

Game Modes

Story Mode

The "Story Mode" was presented as our School Final Project.

This Mode includes:

• the introduction to a mystery plotline,
• dialogues with characters,
• detective interrogations,
• two card-games,
• one card-game special-mechanic.

No Story Mode

We use the "No-Story Mode" in Gaming Festivals. As the name suggests, this mode removes narrative, dialogue and the interrogation mechanics of the game.

This Mode includes:

• four card-games,
• three card-game special-mechanics.

Story

In a sewer inhabited by rats, you play as Chewy, a veteran Detective. You receive a letter from an old lover, Madame Cheesy, inviting you to her estate. However, when you arrive, she has gone missing. You know to head towards the underground criminal bar, the Squeak-Easy, in search of answers.
